Injust games

While working on Gods and Legions I thought about “what is I do not like Gods and legions to have?”. Obviously, the bad things are infinite, but some bad characteristics are already named and are “easy” to not do.

I love old games. Yesterday I was playing Double Dragon (arcade version), and in the bridge part, something was wrong..

As the video shows, a little touch down in the joystick and Jimmy Lee falls into the water. Before the bridge draw ends! It occurs on the last board of the bridge too.

Injust Games

Arcade games are very hard because the most important thing in the games is not the diversion, the game is created to sell credits, to get money for the arcade owner. An example of a very hard game is Metal Slug, the number of enemies and the low power of normal weapons put you in a very bad position, but metal slug never is unjust.

Metal Slug No Death

Some games use the idea of injustice for comedy effect, like Trap Adventure 2

Trap Adventure 2

Battletoads Clinger Winger stage is very difficult, the hint to turning the stage easier is “disassemble the joystick to facilitate to put, down, left, right without clicking in diagonals”

In Okami, one of the last puzzles is too difficult that the hit is: “Get a photo of the screen and try to reproduce the points”

Let’s try to define what is an injust game: If it is not possible for the player to win on their own merit (needs to buy a better gun, the game needs an impossible input from the controller, the enemy attacks with the indefensible attack, etc) the game is injust.

Ultimate injust game: The life®

Marcos Mariano da Silva was arrested in 1976 because he had the same name as a man who committed a homicide – the real culprit only appeared six years later. Released, he went through a new nightmare three years later: he was stopped by a policeman who recognized him. The judge who heard the case sent him, without consulting the file, back to prison for a parole violation. In a prison rebellion, Marcos Lost their vision in an explosion. More than a decade later he got out of prison.

Marcos died from a cardiac arrest in 2011, shortly after learning of the completion of the lawsuit he filed against the government.

In all years, the change in the government (from dictatorial to right, center, left) do not help Marcos. Marcos was a very poor person. In the game of life, being a poor person is the most powerful combustible for the injustice engine, because only three things like the poor: Poverty, hunger, and death. Injustice does not like the poor, but it helps to keep them poor, hungry and kills them sooner.
