I love Command and Conquest. It’s an amazing game.

But the end of RTS games isn’t just EA’s doing, RTS games seem extinct. On Steam, we have few releases of new RTS games, on mobile platforms, the release is also non-existent.
What is the reason for the death of RTS Games?
- For many, the style peaked in the 90s. Nothing new can be added.
- The genre is extremely complex for new players
- The game is too slow for modern players, with some stages over 30 minutes in C&C.
Although RTS games are basically dead, some other game styles have been plucked from RTS and are hugely successful, such as tower defense games and MOBA games.
God and Legions is a new idea around RTS games. It’s like an RTS-lite game because resource management is super simplified to make stages fast and some ideas from other genres like action games, platform games, and roleplaying games are added.
It’s like the God of War of RTS games. God of War changed the beat-up game. mixing RPG ideas, platform ideas, and puzzle game ideas.
God and Legions will mix RTS game ideas with puzzles, platforms, and other ideas, without the money and fantastic quality of the God of War team.
I have no idea if God and Legions will really create a new sub-genre of RTS or be successful, but I started programming because I love games, and God and Legions will be a dream come true.
